The girls JV soccer team added to their now 10 game winning streak with an astonishing 8-0 victory over the St. Pius Sartans. The Toppers started their domination over the Sartans early with a goal by Tara McDonald, assisted by Aaliyah Walker, in the first minute of the game. Ona Gartz scored off a break away late in the first half giving the Toppers at 2-0 lead at halftime. The Toppers completely picked apart the Sartan defense in the second half with Andi Soto and Jenna Harris scoring 2 goals each. Katie Osburn scored a goal assisted by Charlie Ulrich. Tara McDonald finished off the game with an unassisted goal, her second of the match.
No goals were scored on the Toppers thanks to disciplined and consistent defensive play by Aliya Richins, Addy Witt, Robin Chartrand, Sally Hopkins and Brook Belyeu. Tanna Hollander and Dalia Drew both had excellent performances in goal.
The JV girls soccer team has 1 more game left in their season which will be played at home against Aztec on Saturday 10/27 at 12 PM at LAHS Sullivan Field. During this game the Toppers will be wearing pink and collecting donations for the girls soccer Kick for the Cure fundraiser to help in the fight against breast cancer.
